²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Choir sing Evensong in memory of Sir David Lumsden, former Organist of ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ

²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Chapel was full on Saturday for a special Evensong to celebrate the memory of Sir David Lumsden, Organist of ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ, 1959-1976, who went on to a distinguished role as principal of the Royal Academy of Music.

His family and many members of the choir association gathered to honour his enormous contribution to ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Choir, in particularly a new focus on recording.

Robert Quinney chose music to reflect his time in ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ, including Byrd’s Great Service, recorded by Sir David in 1976, and Faire is the heaven by William Harris, Organist of ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ, 1919-1929.
