²ÝÁñÊÓƵ

On 27 October, New College announced the winners of its Step-Up essay competition. 

Adam, from Manchester, was the overall winner of the competition, receiving a prize of £250, whereas runner-up, Hibah, from Cardiff, won £100. 

The essay competition is part of the ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Step-Up outreach initiative, inspiring state-school students from years 11, 12 and 13 to apply to Oxford.

Along with their parents, Adam and Hibah spent the day in ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ to celebrate their win. In the morning, they met with the Warden of ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ for a prize giving session and, afterwards, they attended lunch in Hall with Shelby, our Senior Outreach Officer.

As a happy coincidence, both Adam and Hibah have applied to ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ to study Law and Medicine respectively. We wish them the very best of luck with their applications!
